Hello everyone!
This is the start of what I hope will become a fun blog on cooking adventures, wine tasting, juicing recipes and more.
Ian and I began dating in July 2010 and quickly found out we shared a passion for homemade cooking. Most nights we are together in the kitchen dicing, slicing, mincing and tossing whole foods together to make some fun dishes. From mussels to fajitas and collard greens to cremini mushrooms, we try to stretch our food boundaries on a daily basis.
With all these meals, it's a rare moment we are not accompanied by a glass of wine from a new bottle we haven't had before. One of our favorite wines is a hearty Red Zinfandel, a relatively unknown American grape that needs to get more recognition for its wonderful pairing with spicy foods.
It was during one of these dinners that Ian realized it would be a fun project for us to start up a blog that covered the food we make, the wines we drink (the good, the bad, and the "don't even use that for cooking"), and interesting things we learn about the foods we eat.
Our goal is to start writing down the ingredients we use for the recipes we make (instead of throwing shit together in a pan, saying "Damn, that was good!" and then not remembering what went into the concoction) and keep track of what dishes end up amazing and what end up not making the cut.
Please Enjoy!
The Zinners
